Read United strives to increase the number of Quad Cities third graders reading on grade level. This greatly improves their chances of success in school and in life. By sharing just 30 minutes a week of your time, you can change a child’s future.

Tax Preparation Assistance

Volunteers from the community are needed each tax season to help prepare basic, current year tax returns for eligible taxpayers free of charge.

In addition to tax preparers, volunteers are needed for intake and review. Mandatory training and certification is required.

Join us next year to help bring more money back to local families.

Each year United Way QC partners with the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), River Bend Food Bank, and the Quad City Federation of Labor for the nation’s largest one-day food drive.

Join us in May 2026 to help pick up food on postal routes and unload/sort food at local post offices.
