Whether it’s painting schools, cleaning up parks, or assisting local nonprofits, the Day of Caring embodies the spirit of unity and service. Through these collective efforts, we witness tangible improvements in our neighborhoods, from revitalized public spaces to enhanced educational facilities. Beyond the physical changes, the Day of Caring fosters a sense of togetherness and empowerment among residents, reminding us that we can achieve remarkable things when we come together with a shared purpose.

The Day of Caring project selection is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Because of the tremendous response of employees who want to volunteer, the projects fill up very quickly. We encourage you to reserve your project as soon as you can.
To provide a meaningful experience for all volunteers, we have already allowed for the maximum number of volunteers for each project. Therefore, no additional spots will be created. You always have the option of dividing into two groups and picking an additional project.
To provide a meaning and diverse Day of Caring, we work closely with community partners including school districts, city governments and agencies. Unfortunately, we are unable to customize special project requests because of the magnitude of that day. However, if you would like to volunteer with your co-workers for a team building activity at a different time of the year, we would be happy to tailor an experience just for you and your group. To be able to provide the very best customer service, we ask that you do not contact an agency directly to arrange projects. United Way has worked very hard to establish a Day of Caring process that allows us to coordinate logistics, ensure the project goes through the safety review process and make it easier for the agency to have one point of contact.
T-shirt pickup will be on Wednesday, September 2nd from 7am-5pm, and Thursday, September 3rd from 10am-6:30pm at United Way Quad Cities (852 Middle Rd, Bettendorf)
