Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program: Feb. 1 - April 13
United Way each year helps hundreds of local families prepare their income taxes, free of charge, with our Volunteer Income Tax Assistant (VITA) program. We are now accepting appointments for 2022.
How it Works
Trained volunteers will prepare taxes for FREE for Quad Citizens with a household income of $57,000 or less — and make sure you receive all tax credits you are eligible for including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Child Tax Credit (CTC).
In 2022, tax preparation is offered in person primarily by appointment, with an option for walk-in services, from Feb. 1 through April 9. Drop-off tax preparation is available by appointment from Feb. 2 to April 13, in partnership with AARP.
For information about state taxes, check out the websites.

Thank you to our volunteers and host sites for allowing us to offer this much in-demand service.
United Way also thanks tax filers for respecting and following health and safety guidelines as posted by tax preparation sites to prevent the spread of illness.
