Join us in empowering more kids to believe they can shape the future and the community.
Too many kids struggle with literacy in the Quad Cities. But, we’re uniting new friends and long-time partners across the Quad Cities to improve youth literacy and empower kids.
Join our Kids United campaign to provide 3,000 copies of the new book “The Adventures of Kids United: The Glass Bridge” to all local second graders and power United Way programming that’s activating reading mentors and creating measurable success toward boosting youth literacy.
“The Adventures of Kids United: The Glass Bridge,” written by our United Way QC president and CEO, Rene Gellerman, invites young readers to discover their potential to create change. In this story, five Quad Cities friends unlock their own “superpowers” — the qualities that make them unique — as they tackle challenges using teamwork, creativity and kindness. The book encourages kids to believe in themselves and see their strengths as tools for building a better community.
Proceeds from every book support United Way QC’s literacy programs, making it possible for more kids to develop the skills and confidence to thrive.
