United Way of the Quad Cities partners with local school districts, universities and governments to take a wholistic look at education in the area. By taking separate data and making it whole, the partners involved in the Education Exchange provide data analysis for all districts in a manner that reflects benchmarks for the community at-large.
Benchmarks were set by eight school superintendents and are considered standard in the education field, with research nationwide demonstrating their value as early indicators of academy success. Benchmarks include:
- School readiness such as kindergarten skills inventory
- 3rd grade reading proficiency
- Middle school attendance
