Now more than ever, our community needs strong leadership as we respond to the pandemic, dismantle systemic racism and advocate for a more equitable community for all.

Registration has closed for United Way’s first Quad Cities Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (QCDEI) Leadership Institute, which helps prepare leaders from across the area to be effective stewards for our community's future. This program is facilitated by Dr. LaDrina Wilson, founder of Iman Consulting, featuring a slate of guest speakers. (It’s not too late to apply for the Fall Session.)
Beginning June 1 through July 13, this six-week, virtual program will include courageous conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion; principles that can strengthen organizations and neighborhoods; the history of systemic racism; insight on current community challenges and opportunity gaps; and how to take this information and turn it into action.
Participants can expect support in identifying opportunities to enhance DEI efforts through projects, initiatives or programs that may be implemented in a workplace setting or in the community.

Includes six weekly 1½-hour classes, held virtually via Zoom.
Summer Session: Tuesdays, June 1 – July 13, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (FULL)
Fall Session: Tuesdays, Sept. 7 – Oct. 19, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Apply before July 4)
This QCDEI Leadership Institute is expected to be in high demand. To ensure quality programming and engagement, participation will be limited to 30 people (one person per organization). Applicants are encouraged to apply early and provide careful, thorough responses to the questions to ensure the Selection Committee has enough information to pair a productive class.
Ideal candidates have an interest in contributing to a more equitable workplace and are committed to community engagement and leadership. Candidates may apply more than once to future sessions.

Cost for the Summer Session is $150, and limited to 30 participants. Fall Session starts Sept. 7 through Oct. 19, 2021, and is also $150 per person. Scholarships are available.
Payment is due upon admittance to the program; United Way will notify all accepted applicants for the Summer Session on May 19. The participation fee has been waived for Equity Investors during the Summer Session.
