Chef Carlos Gaytan from Mexique, in Chicago will prepare food and drink pairings to match this year’s Day of the Dead theme. Tickets are $150 each and all proceeds from the event support Born Learning.
Chef Gaytan applies his knowledge of French cooking techniques and ingredients to his roots of traditional Mexican cuisine, creating a revolution of Mexican gastronomy. Chef Gaytan came to Chicago in 1991 from Guerrero, Mexico. In 2008, he opened Mexique on Chicago Avenue, which earned its first Michelin star in 2013. Chef Gaytan participated in Top Chef in 2013, calling the experience amazing.
